Blessed be the name of the Lord who daily loads us with benefits. Our God is good. He is our very present help in trouble-Ps.46. We welcome you to this month of MAY which is our month of our RISING. May we continue to rise in righteousness, grace, power, favour, and glory in Jesus mighty name. In the Last two months, we discussed on the power of agreement. We looked at both good and evil agreement. About the evil agreement, we saw how the evil men gathered and bound themselves with a vow to kill Apostle Paul. They also had a sacrifice which was fasting. In this edition, we are going to destroy/deal with the power behind the evil agreement. 12 And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. 13 Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy. 14 They came to the chief priests and elders, and said, “We have bound ourselves under a great oath that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul. 15 Now you, therefore, together with the council, suggest to the commander that he be brought down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to make further inquiries concerning him; but we are ready to kill him before he comes near.” 16 So when Paul's sister's son heard of their ambush, he went and entered the barracks and told Paul. 17 Then Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, “Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.” 18 So he took him and brought him to the commander and said, “Paul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to say to you.” Acts 23 verse 12 -18. Dear child of God, there are evil men and their associates. These men are called evil congregation who conspires to steal, to kill and to destroy -John 10 verse 10a. They always bind themselves with a vow because for any thing to be achieved whether positive or negative, a sacrifice must be made. There is no successful agreement without a sacrifice offered for it. A sacrifice is something valuable which you give away in order to get something more valuable. Whenever you are dealing with evil agreement, make sure that you destroy the sacrifice that has been offered for it. It is the power from the sacrifice that brings the agreement to pass. The sacrifice is the power and pillar that makes the agreement effective. The sacrifice is the price which must be paid in exchange of gaining what the people agreed on. Even in your prayers, against evil agreement, you must be sacrificial if you must achieve your purpose. You must know nothing moves unless power is applied. “and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled” 2 Corinthians 10 verse 6. Many children of God are crying about their battles while they are living in disobedience. You need to ask yourself if your obedience is complete in the Lord. Are you abiding in the ways of the Lord? You need to truly obey God in your daily living to subdue the evil agreement. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit agreed to save us but God the Son sacrificed himself for our salvation. The sacrifice in any agreement is the pillar that helps the agreement to stand, and unless the pillar collapsed the evil agreement will stand. TO OVERCOME - Target the pillar of evil agreement. - Attack sacrifice with sacrifice, attack altar with altar and power with power. By so doing, you are disarming the strongman. Jesus talked about disarming the strongman in Luke 11 verse 21 and 22 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. 22 But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes (overpower) him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils. Before you try to recover what the enemy stole from you, first disarm him by attacking and destroying his weaponry. When his power is destroyed, he become ordinary, and you can easily recover all that he stole from you. Remember what makes an ordinary man strong is his strength. Once you removed it, the strongman will look like an ordinary man. Thus, the Philistines were looking for the strength of Samson. After they discovered his strength, they went ahead to destroy it and he became an ordinary man Judges 16. In Egypt, Moses was focusing on destroying the strength of their gods. It was the power of the gods of Egypt that was making Pharoah stubborn. After the strength of the gods of the Egyptians were destroyed, and there was nothing Pharoah could do to keep the children of Israel in bondage but to let them go- The Book of Exodus Balak wanted to destroy the children of Israel after he saw their greatness. “Then he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor at Pethor, which is near the River in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying: “Look, a people has come from Egypt. See, they cover the face of the earth, and are settling next to me! 6 Therefore please come at once, curse this people for me, for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.” Numbers 22 verse 5-6. Balaam told Balak to build altars and offer sacrifices on them, because he knew that sacrifices were offered for the deliverance of the children of Israel. And it will require another sacrifice to reverse their freedom. It was an attempt to overpower them. Unfortunately, Balaam and Balak offered bulls and rams with blemishes while the children of Israel offered a sacrifice without blemishes, for the ram which they offered was Jesus Christ. This is an understanding you must gain. A BLEMISH SACRIFICE CANNOT COUNTER-ATTACK A SACRIFICE WITHOUT BLEMISH. Therefore, make sure that there is no sin in you, and you are not offering a sacrifice with blemish. “You offer defiled food on My altar, But say, 'In what way have we defiled You?' By saying, 'The table of the LORD is contemptible (disgraceful, disreputable, despicable).' 8 And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, Is it not evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, Is it not evil? Offer it then to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you favorably?” Says the LORD of hosts. 9 “But now entreat God's favor, That He may be gracious to us. While this is being done by your hands, Will He accept you favorably?” Says the LORD of hosts” Malachi 1 verse 7-9.
